The purpose of personal data processing is to ensure participation in courses and seminars organized by the University (participant registration, identification, communication on matters related to participation, preparation and issuance of documents certifying participation, preparation and accounting of settlement documents).
The legal basis for personal data processing is Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), Article 6(1): (b) processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party; (c) processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject; (f) processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data, in particular where the data subject is a child.
The University’s legitimate interests in the processing of course and seminar participant data are the achievement of the University’s objectives, which includes the administrative needs of organizing courses and seminars, ensuring the University’s internal procedures, as well as the implementation of the University’s obligations and rights set out in contracts and regulatory enactments.
In determining the retention period of personal data of course and seminar attendees, periods set out in regulatory enactments are observed or, if personal data retention periods are not specified in regulatory enactments, the retention period is determined by the University. Certificates and personal data related to them in non-formal education courses are stored for 5 years from the date of issuance of the certificate. Personal data of course and seminar attendees included in documents of an economic nature, contracts, invoices, etc. shall be stored in accordance with the requirements of the Accounting Law, which provides for a retention period of not less than five years, for the purpose of enabling the identification of the beginning of each economic transaction and tracking its progress.
You have the right to request from the University access to your personal data and their rectification or erasure, in the cases specified in regulatory enactments to request restriction of processing or the right to object to processing, as well as the right to data portability. If you have questions about the processing of your personal data or about possible violations in the processing of your personal data, you may submit an application to the University’s data protection specialist. If you are not satisfied with the response received, you have the right to submit a complaint to the Data State Inspectorate. Your personal data are used only for the processing purposes indicated.
